A seasoned career diplomat born in Darazo town, Bauchi State, Nigeria. He obtained his primary and secondary certificates from Darazo Central Primary School and Government Secondary School respectively. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in History and International Relations from the University of Maiduguri before joining the Nigerian Foreign Service. He attended the Foreign Service academy in 1988.
He has a vast experience in the Nigerian Foreign service, having served at different divisions including serving as Director of Programmes at the Directorate of Technical Aid Corps (TAC) and Consular and Immigration Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja. Outside Nigeria, he had served in several countries including Kuwait, Accra, Rabat, and Beijing. His hobbies include reading, travelling and service to humanity. He is married and blessed with four children.
